After graduating with a B.A. (Hons) in English Studies (Brighton University, 1999 – 2002) I have spent the last 13 year years of my career dedicated to various jobs involving languages, such as a PROJECT MANAGER.
SKILLS AS A PROJECT MANAGER:
Having gained vital expertise through these professions, I consider myself a good Project Manager.
I am almost bilingual in English and Spanish, which is useful in international project management and exports.
I enjoy working in a deadline driven environment and I am not shy of a fast paced workplace nor delegating tasks. In addition, a great eye for detail means that each project I complete is rigorously researched and examined.
I am a Multi-tasking person and and for example, proofreading documents before publication and coordinating a publication team is not unusual for me. My experience also includes managing an online community, which requires solid technological knowledge, a drive to develop a community, solid content writing skills and making important decisions.
EXPERIENCE AS A PROJECT MANAGER
– From 2003 to 2006 I was Head of Production and responsible for multiple language translation quality control of a whole team of internationally based translators (AABAM TRANSLATIONS, MAGDALA TRANSLATIONS, in Madrid, Spain).
My funtions were:
– Take full ownership of each localization phase in the project cycle.
– Plan, organize and successfully execute both small to mid-size as well as large and/or more technical projects according to time and budget requirements.
– Coordinate and monitor external teams (translator, proofer as well as other suppliers) and work flows.
I was a Project Manager for international projects from GLAXOSMITHKLINE (Pharmaceutical company based on England), THE BIGWORD (mostly technical projects, England), BILINGUA (Marketing projects, England), BUBBLE TRANSLATIONS and ACCENT TRANSLATIONS (Education and medical projects, England), etc. And for national companies, such as FCC, ACCIONA, FERROVIAL, CINTRA: projects of bidding of more than 50.000 words to be translated in less than a week in different languages.
